Meghan Maiwald of US Deaf Women’s National Team Joins WSN as Featured Blogger

MONTEREY, Calif. - April 29, 2014 - PRLog -- WSN, the leading online news magazine devoted to women's sports, has announced that US Deaf Women’s National Team and Women’s Premier Soccer League goalkeeper, Meghan Maiwald, has joined the team as a featured blogger.

Maiwald joins fellow female athletes Jenny Gilbert, Katie Holloway, Kimi Pohlman, and Taylor Hoagland in working with WSN to reach the most influential demographic of consumers, expose themselves to worldwide brands and communicate with fans, both current and prospective. "Kickin' It with Meghan Maiwald” will include a no-holds-barred journey of Meghan's life as a Deaf athlete and woman.

About Meghan:
Meghan is an eight year member of the US Deaf Women’s National Team as a goalkeeper. Her accomplishments include Gold Medals in the 2013 Deaflympics and 2012 Deaf World Cup. Meghan is entering her fourth season as a member of the California Storm (Women’s Premier Soccer League) where she guided the team to two Pacific North Conference titles. At Santa Barbara City College (2008-2009) Meghan was named 1st Team All Conference twice, and named the school’s Female Athlete of the Year. She holds several school records; 13 shutouts in a season and 24 career shutouts. Meghan transferred to San Jose State University (2010-2011) where she is on three program career lists; 2nd in goals against average (1.38), 3nd in shutouts (10), and 5th in saves (200). Meghan’s four-year collegiate career record stands at 41-26-14, 34 shutouts, 7,390 minutes played, 81 straight starts and .96 goals against average.
