Business Owners Encourage Eco-Chic Gifts for Moms, Dads & Grads

CLAREMONT, Calif. - May 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Local artists and business owners, Amanda Reifel and Angela Rossi operate The Green Gypsie located in the historic Packing House District of The Village of Claremont.

The Green Gypsie specializes in eco-chic home décor, accessories and wearable art made from sustainable, repurposed, recycled or up-cycled materials.   These methods allow us to enjoy a healthier environment and less waste on our planet.

Independent artisans throughout the United States handcraft many of the stores unique items.  They revitalize traditional pieces, adding a touch of whimsy creating an entirely new look and use in items such as:  furniture, clocks, décor, giftware, wearable art and more.

These are some examples of what can be found inside The Green Gypsie:

o   Up-cycled reproduction musical horn and handcrafted wood– serving as an acoustic iPhone docking station/speaker

o   Eco-chic decorative bowls – made from vegetables such as, Thai green papaya and chili peppers hand shaped into translucent bowls

One of the more unusual décor items is the Cardboard Safari Collection - wild animal heads made from recycled cardboard.  These “wild animals” can be wall mounted making a statement in offices, family rooms or a child’s bedroom.

“It is important for people to know,” said Reifel, “that whatever is sold in our store is either made from sustainable, repurposed, organic, recycled or up-cycled materials.  There is something very unique and special about owning a piece that is different from mass-produced merchandise.”
