Surge protection for preventing interruptions in production lines

Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. protects the power supply lines of Faurecia, a large company supplier of components for vehicles.

PATERNA, Spain - May 3, 2014 - PRLog -- External lightning protection, that is, the installation of air terminals with their down-conductors and earthing, avoids direct impact to the structure but not secondary lightning effects to service lines that are connected to electric and electronic equipment. Damages caused to those devices may be large, not only due to the value of the equipment itself but also because of the work interruptions and consequent costs of stopping production, delivery delays, data losses, re-starting machinery, etc.

In Faurecia, a company supplying components for vehicles, a lightning strike was intercepted by the installed air terminal, thus avoiding breakages or fire in the structure. However, several sensitive appliances were affected, which caused the interruption of the production and assembly line.

Aplicaciones Tecnológicas, S.A. technicians made the internal protection analysis and Faurecia has trusted our surge protection products for avoiding secondary lightning effects to their power supply lines.
