Thomas P. Jacob, M.D. establishes new psychiatric medical clinic in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. - May 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Thomas P. Jacob, M.D. has established a new outpatient psychiatric clinic at The Atrium Executive Suites located at 8596 College Parkway, Fort Myers, FL 33919. Services include psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy and medication management. He has been practicing psychiatry in Southwest Florida since 2008. His clinical interests are forgetfulness, memory problems, and psychiatric symptoms in medically complex and addiction issues in seniors.

Dr. Jacob recently completed a geriatric psychiatry postdoctoral program from the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and Neuropsychiatry at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.

He is board certified in Adult Psychiatry by American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, in Addiction Medicine by American Board of Addiction Medicine, and is board eligible for Geriatric Psychiatry.

After finishing medical school and general internal medicine post graduate studies in India, Dr. Jacob completed an externship at St. Elizabeths Hospital, Washington DC. He completed an internship at Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Charleston, WV and a residency in psychiatry from Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Miami, FL.

Professional memberships include American Psychiatric Association, Florida Psychiatric Society, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and Lee County Medical Society.
