Jacksons Restaurant Rotisserie Bar to Offer Local Produce Sale and C.S.A. from Conover Organic Farm

CANONSBURG, Pa. - May 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Starting Friday, June 6^th fresh produce of all kinds will be available at Jacksons Restaurant Rotisserie Bar parking lot. The restaurant has partnered with Conover Organic Farm to provide a weekly fresh produce stand on Fridays from 3:30p.m.-6:30p.m. In addition to produce shopping, Jacksons will be featuring live entertainment and happy hour specials at the bar, highlighting Conover Farm produce.

Conover Organic Farm is a fourteen generation farm with roots starting in 1624 at present day Wall Street in New York City with subsequent farms in Brooklyn and New Jersey and now Burgettstown. Jeff Conover’s family purchased the Burgettstown farm which has been in continuous farming operations since 1774. The farm grows a variety of berries, heirloom tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, sweet corn, carrots, lettuce, garlic, asparagus, kale, potatoes, honey and much more. Conover Farm is 100% organic and uses sustainable farming practices they have zero GMO crops and use no chemicals on their plants or bees.

Conover Farm offers a CSA which has become a popular way for consumers to purchase fresh and seasonal produce from local farmers. Conover Farm delivers crops weekly to Jacksons for people who have pre-paid for an entire season in the spring to receive fresh picked organic produce in the summer and fall. In addition to hosting a farm stand, the Jacksons parking lot serves as a CSA drop point for Southpointe and surrounding communities.

“We have always stressed the importance of local and sustainable eating at Jacksons; we’ve had our own garden here since we opened,” says Paul S. Bazzano, Vice President of Operations. “So now offering fresh and organic local produce from Conover Farm, we are taking the initiative a step further and becoming a resource to the community while sharing our passion for local products. We will also be using Conover products on our summer and fall menus.”
