Affinegy’s Lancaster Elected To Chair AllSeen Alliance’s Gateway Agent Working Group

AUSTIN, Texas - May 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Affinegy (www.affinegy.com), a global provider of service enablement software and connected device management, has announced that its chief technology officer, Art Lancaster, has been tapped to head the AllSeen Alliance’s Gateway Agent Working Group.

The goals of The Gateway Agent Working Group are:

To provide a standard and secure, remote access method for AllSeen IoT devices and applications to connect to cloud services.

To allow IoT devices to communicate with each other in a safe and secure manner on the home's private network, instead of communicating through the Internet, ensuring that the homeowner’s data is safe and secure.

To provide gateway agent software, available as open source from the AllSeen Alliance, that can be easily embedded in a wide range of hardware and serve an important role between IoT devices and cloud services.

To provide software that is easy to use and eliminates the need to make manual firewall or port settings to connect to cloud services.

The AllSeen Alliance is a nonprofit consortium dedicated to enabling and driving the widespread adoption of products, systems and services that support the Internet of Everything with an open, universal development framework supported by a vibrant ecosystem and thriving technical community.
