2015 Chevrolet Spark to Get New Battery Pack | McCarthy Chevrolet Olathe

May 16, 2014 - PRLog -- OLATHE, KANSAS—Chevrolet recently announced that the Chevrolet Spark EV will get an update for the 2015 model year-- a new battery pack!

The new battery pack, which will use different lithium-ion cells than the current one, will be assembled at Chevrolet’s Brownstown, Michigan, plant. That plant is already responsible for the assembly of batteries used in the Chevrolet Volt.

According to GM, the 2015 Spark will retain its EPA ratings for range-- 82 miles-- and for efficiency-- 119 MPGe-- even with this new battery pack. The new battery is lighter in weight than the previous one, however.

The 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV will start at $27,495 before Federal and state incentives.
