The Compass Church Confirms New Senior Pastor

Naperville, IL – After a year-long search, The Compass Church of Naperville membership voted to confirm, Jeff Griffin, BS, MDiv, as their new Senior Pastor on May 18th.

Prior to May 4th, Jeffwas co-founder and co-Senior Pastor of The Chapel in Grayslake, IL. For the past 12 years, he was the primary preaching and teaching pastor for a congregation of 6,000 people across eight campuses. Additionally, he spent five years serving in youth ministry.

Jeff was announced as the candidate for Senior Pastor of The Compass Church during a special event held on Sunday evening May 4th. He was chosen by a 7-member Search Team, affirmed by Senior Staff and unanimously recommended by The Compass Elder Board. The event was a joyous celebration that concluded with the introduction of Jeff and his family. Following, The Compass offered a two week schedule of his teaching/preaching and several personal ‘meet and greets’.

Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science degree from renowned Wheaton College in nearby Wheaton, IL and his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. He and his wife, Jen, grew up together in Arlington Heights and attended the Free Church (The Orchard). They began dating at age 16, have been married 20 years and have three young children, two girls and a boy.

The Compass Church is a multi-site church consisting of two Naperville campuses and a long-term plan for additional sites. Our current regular weekly attendance is over 2800 and we offer a wide range of ministries serving a global perspective.

The mission of The Compass Church is to compel people to embrace the call of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to become an epicenter of life transformation that spreads the hope of the Gospel here, near and far through the multiplication of multi-site campuses. The mission and vision come from the verse Matthew 4:19 in the Bible.

The Compass Church’s campuses are located at 1551 E. Hobson Drive and 2244 W. 95^th Street in Naperville. We offer a total of five services on weekends between the two campuses.
