Follow on Google News | Youth Program 'Nailed' at Local College and High SchoolCentral Coast Community College has teamed up with Wyong High School to run a specialised and beauty industry based youth program at the College’s Wyong Campus.
Students involved in the Program are studying skills sets from the SIB20210 Certificate II in Nail Technology. Jo Woodroffe, Vocational Education and Training Manager at Central Coast Community College said that the Program has seen some very positive results. “Students undertaking this Program are learning valuable skills that can lead to further work in the Beauty Industry. “They are showing initiative and are taking part in student clinic days”, said Mrs Woodroffe. Gary Hearn, Trade School Coordinator at Wyong High School says that the partnership has been successful on a number of levels. “This is a brilliant partnership between Central Coast Community College and Wyong High School. “Our students are achieving independence via the challenges of varying responsibilities, and are gaining self esteem and confidence through the Program. “The co-community involvement of the College and our High School is important as it enhances the educational aspirations of our students. “We are very grateful for the opportunity to be involved in such a productive partnership” The Wyong High students will be holding student clinics for acrylic nail treatments on Wednesdays from 9.30am to 2.00pm.
