SANDUSKY, Ohio - May 28, 2014 - PRLog -- "With over 20 million slaves in the world today, and 800,000 people being trafficked illegally across boarders each year, the stastics are overwhelming and people can get discouraged," says Rae. "I know good things happening are happening, there are people who care and are making a difference, but sometimes it's hard to find those good stories and statistics. That's why I wrote Captive No More, to share the good side, to remind people that rescue, even the rescue of one, matters."

Rae's series of Christian suspense novels on international human trafficking (Stolen Woman, Stolen Child, and Stolen Future), set in India near where she used to live, are all Amazon bestsellers. Rae now trains on human trafficking. "I love to help people understand not just the problem," she states, "but how people can be part of the solution."

Rae plans to have handouts available at the library event showing how Ohio has improved in the fight against human trafficking. "Ohio used to rank the fifth worst state in the US for trafficking," Rae comments. "No longer. In 2012, the Polaris Project marked it among the 4 most improved states. In 2013, it ranked in top 20 best states. That's huge."

Marci Reikowski, Public Services Coordinator at the Milan Public Library, looks forward to having Kimberly Rae inform patrons how the situation is improving and how they can join the fight. Available at the free-to-the-public session will be free resources with tips on how to protect children at different age levels. Rae's books, including the new release, Captive No More, will also be available for purchase at the event.

"Spreading awareness is key," says Rae. "When people become aware, then they can make a difference. The Super Bowl for example, is the largest trafficking event of the year in the US. Ten years ago, who knew that? Now there is so much awareness and involvement, at this past Super Bowl game, over 200 people were arrested before the game even started!"

How can everyday people make a difference? "Just knowing the Human Trafficking Hotline is a great start," Rae says. "You can call 1-888-3737-888 if you see something suspicious, to report an incident, or even just for information."

Rae will have more information available at the Milan Library event, Thursday, July, July 10, at 6:30pm. She will also be signing books at Sheri's Coffee House in downtown Norwalk, Saturday, July 12, from 10am to 12pm.

"Jesus came to set the captive free," Rae concludes. "I love helping people be part of that."
