Webinar Series to Focus on current Enterprise Risk Management Issues for Community Banks

Webinar series seen to help address the challenges of community banking.

May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- The current regulatory and business environment for community banks remains challenging.  To assist bankers, in keeping up with these challenges, a series of webinars focusing on community banking issues are being created.  The first webinar – Current Management Liability Issues of Interest to Community Banks,  will highlight a few matters of concern in the following areas:  Cyber Security, Mergers & Acquisitions and Outside Director Attraction and Retention.

Peter Marchel, President and Founder of Marchel & Associates Risk Consulting, and John Bley, Chair of the Financial Institutions practice at Foster Pepper, PLLC., are developing a series of webinars focused on Enterprise Risk Management Issues for Community Banks.

The programs are designed so that participants will be able to walk away with some practical tools and applications that they can apply in managing their community banks.  The first Webinar will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm  PST.    Additional Webinars will occur in September and December of 2014 and March of 2015.
Peter Marchel has more than 24 years of experience in Legal and Insurance matters.  His  background is unique; from working on Insurance Opinions as a former Law Clerk for a State Supreme Court Justice, to arguing insurance cases before the court on behalf of both defendants and plaintiffs as a Trial Attorney.  His experience as in-house Counsel and General Counsel for both insurance companies and insurance brokerages has brought a unique and valuable perspective to his clients, especially financial institutions.

During the last 12 years,  Peter, has worked with over 50 Financial Institutions in the Pacific Northwest.  His assistance has ranged from policy placement in both admitted and non-admitted markets and  consults with clients and their counsel on complex claims, and assistance with policy language.
