Follow on Google News | Carlisle Bakery to Create a Special Automotive-Themed Cake for Carlisle EventsLocal Shop’s Work to be Showcased (and Eaten) During Carlisle Ford Nationals Weekend in June
By: Carlisle Events The party is on Friday, June 6 and starts at 5 p.m. on and around the Red 102.3 stage. The guest of honor is the Ford Mustang, turning 50 in 2014, and like any regular birthday party, will come complete with friends of the guest, music, food, drinks, a night of reminiscing and of course cake. You can’t forget the cake! Fortunately for the Mustang and its friends, the cake will be delicious, sizeable and you guessed it, will look like a Mustang. It’s also being provided by the Carlisle Bakery and is a weeks in the planning undertaking. Around the same time a deal was struck with the bakery for the cake, staff from the bakery were at the Carlisle Events offices with samples of their work. Two cakes of various flavors were presented to the Carlisle staff and just as quickly, two cakes vanished. The point being, cakes from the Carlisle Bakery are delicious and what they are bringing to the table during the Mustang celebration will certainly satisfy party attendees. “The cake will be classic yellow and will have a delicious vanilla butter cream icing,” said Eric Bell of the bakery. “I’m excited to build and design this cake and want to thank Carlisle Events for not only the opportunity, but for the challenge. Enthusiasts won’t be disappointed.” Established in 2012, the Carlisle Bakery is located on 35 South Hanover St. in downtown Carlisle. The Carlisle Bakery specializes in all things cake and can create one specific to the needs of any event or occasion. In addition, they bake pastries, tarts, cookies, brownies, etc., but cakes are their marquee creation. “Making this cake for Carlisle Events was the chance of a lifetime,” continued Bell. “I’ve made a lot of cakes for various occasions, but to do one associated with such an important and iconic car is unique for me. I’ve never done something with such detail and it’s really cool to be able to take a creative idea and bring it to life for all to enjoy. The car is a 1964 Mustang convertible and I plan on having it done very soon. The week of the event will be when we put all the final touches on it, build it, box it up and deliver it. June 6 will be fun and the Carlisle Bakery is honored to be involved.” Day one of the Carlisle Ford Nationals starts at 7 a.m. and with the Mustang celebration taking place later in the day, automotive enthusiasts and community members are encouraged to experience this great event. Children 12 and under are always admitted free at Carlisle and an adult ticket is just $12. A weekend pass is $25 and covers all aspects of the weekend, from early bird day on Thursday to the final happenings on Sunday.
