Follow on Google News | ![]() Bosco Tech to Host Baccalaureate and Commencement Exercises on June 6The ceremonies will honor the graduates who earned acceptances from universities and colleges across the country. When they begin their post-secondary education in the fall, the majority will major in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) related fields. “We’re very proud of the graduating class of 2014,” said Bosco Tech Principal Xavier Jimenez. “These students have excelled in their studies, making the most of the opportunities available to them. We are confident in their future successes.” Graduating senior Patrick Williams will give the ceremony’s valedictorian address. The salutatorian will be Diego Arias, a member of the junior class, in keeping with Bosco Tech tradition. The keynote address will be given by Victor Mata, a Bosco Tech alumnus of the class of 2009, who recently graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics. Mata’s two younger brothers, Gustavo Mata and Miguel Mata, are honor students in Bosco Tech’s 2014 graduating class. The baccalaureate Mass will be held on the campus mall, with the traditional conferral of diplomas following. The ceremony will feature Bosco Tech’s traditional alumni reception line, where past graduates welcome each member of the class of 2014 into their ranks. An alumni gathering will be hosted by the school’s Alumni Association immediately after the graduation festivities. Bosco Tech is an all-male Catholic high school that combines rigorous college-preparatory and innovative technological education. The science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) curriculum allows students to exceed university admission requirements while completing extensive integrated coursework in one of several applied science and engineering programs.
