MARIETTA, Ga. - June 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Episode 10 of Season 3 of Dirty South TV's The Acoustic Lunch Hour is one of three Season 3 Sponsor Appreciation Episodes. This Thursday will feature two great artists/bands in an extended Episode sure to wow all attendees.

David Pippin was born in Jacksonville Fl where he was introduced to rock and roll by his father and step mother at a very early age.  "I would go to my friends house and always ask where they kept their sound system.  They usually would point to some small boom box and I would be puzzled.  My father had speakers that were a foot shy of the ceiling.  The whole setup took up an entire wall.  Dad would wake us up around 9am with Led Zeppelin on 10.  The walls would shake and there were times the pictures would fall all over the house, I kid you not.  My Grandfather was a closet blues fan and we would lay in the floor for hours listening to BB King".  Although the love of music was rooted in his entire family, none were musicians.
While growing up in jacksonville, Pippin lived in the marsh lands next to the inter-coastal water way.  His favorite past time was in a pool hall or at a neighbors house who had a pool table in his garage.  "There was this kid who lived down the street who we called Waldo because he looked like the Wheres Waldo character, kids can be cruel.  Waldo had a pool table in his backyard garage and thats where my neighborhood friends and I would hang out.  At the time Waldo had just started to play the guitar.  One day on the way to the garage he asked us to come listen to him play on his new Big Muff distortion pedal.  I could have cared less.  He then said we were not going to play pool until we listened to him play his guitar for a minute.  We reluctantly walked back to his room and waited for him to plug up his lotus 70 dollar guitar into a seventies peavy PA system.  With the first chord he played the sound was so loud and intoxicating that I realized at that moment that I would play guitar for the rest of my life.  I went straight home and called my grandfather and asked if I could have the decorative three string silver tone guitar that hung on his wall.  He said that we could get it strung up and I could have it the next day."  Pippin then began taking lessons from a jacksonville guitar master Rob Scavetto and practiced literally until his fingers bled.
Pippin moved to Georgia at the age of 16 and graduated from Newnan High in 99.  He moved to Carrollton  Ga to attend UWG planning to major in music.  While at West Ga he picked up with a local student named Zac Brown and played with him until he decided to finish his schooling at the Atlanta Institute of Music.  Along the way he has played with greats such as Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Derik St. Holmes of Ted Nudgent.  His past bands include The Poor Mans Blues Band, Adamson Square and Loud Engine.  In 2007 he started Mile Train and took is first turn at being a lead vocalist.  He is also the founder and president of the fall music festival known as Little Big Jam based in Bowdon Ga (2006).  When asked what else can we expect, his reply was "You ain't seen nothin' yet".

High Tea Formed in February of 2014, High Tea is a trio comprised of Heidi Pollyea, Jedd Dotson, and Teresa Powell. Each brings something unique to the band, and all agree that there is a wonderful chemistry between them.  Their original songs are emotionally evocative and are reminiscent of all things Americana: folk, rock, blues, and jazz .  The band’s official website, HighTeaBand.com, will be launching soon; in the meantime, you are invited to follow them on Twitter at @HighTeaBand, Like them on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/HighTeaAtlanta, and at ReverbNation at http://www.reverbnation.com/hightea.

Heidi Pollyea is a folk rock musician with vocal influences from artists like Linda Rondstadt and Shawn Colvin. As a trained jazz pianist and folk rock guitar player with gospel, latin and soul influences, Heidi’s songs range from poignant to funky to humorous or a combination of all. She is an avid animal advocate with some songs speaking directly to her love and concern for them. As a private music instructor, Heidi loves sharing the joy of music making, engaging her audience and encouraging them to sing or clap along. When not performing on her own, she loves playing with other musicians including a group that pays homage to the great singer/songwriters of our time called Taylor Made and another that combines high energy and hot harmonies as the original project High Tea. Keep up with Heidi via her website, www.heidipollyea.com, Like her on Facebook at www.facebook.com/heidipollyeamusician, and Follow her on Twitter at @HeidiPollyea.

Jedd Dotson has been a premier guitarist/vocalist for many years and with various bands throughout the southeast, including the highly popular Footloose and Gopher Broke. He joined forces with Heidi in 2012 and now with the addition of Teresa is thrilled to be an integral part of High Tea. Originally from Tennessee, Jedd currently resides in Blue Ridge, GA, where he can be found playing regularly at the Blue Ridge Brewery and The Toccoa River Restaurant along with Bobby Don Bloodworth.

Teresa Powell is a bassist and vocalist. She has been a musician from a young age and has performed professionally in diverse genres such as bluegrass, folk, rock, jazz.  Like Jedd and Heidi, Teresa occasionally performs with other bands, which include eclectic folk trio Three Weird Sisters, folk/blues duo Birds of a Feather, and a 9-piece jazz ensemble called Play It With Moxie. A founding member of High Tea, Teresa brings her enthusiasm for harmony vocals to the band. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Business from Full Sail University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2013.  When not performing, Teresa supports musicians behind the scenes through her companies Portal Production, Ltd. and Artist Marketing & Promotion (AMP).  Follow her on Twitter at @TeresaGPowell.
