AIP Custom Builders and Remodeling is based in Lake Bluff, IL and specializes in custom home remodeling for active adults, seniors, or those with mobility concerns.  With the addition of Connor Remodeling & Design, AIP can now increase the service we offer to our clients in the Seattle, WA area.  Each of our AIP Builder Partners has over 24 years of custom home remodeling and renovation experience, including expertise in accessible kitchen modifications, bathroom remodeling, accessible home renovations, independent living solutions, and home mobility solutions. Connor Remodeling & Design, or CRD, was founded by Denny Connor in 1980.  He set out to establish a home construction and remodeling business that treated its customers with dignity and respect while also reducing the amount of waste that was generated and he also made plans to improve the home construction process.  In his efforts to make the process as efficient as possible, he bridged the gap between architects and builders by working closely with an architectural designer in the late 1980s.  Denny became an early pioneer of the practice that we now call “Design Build.” Through this approach to home construction and remodeling, CRD is able to produce outstanding results through their cognizant and collaborative design and building process.

CRD spent the next decade utilizing this new Design Build approach and found that it was extremely successful.  They built numerous high-quality large scale additions and home remodeling projects all across the Seattle, WA area.  In 2005, a new architect, Michelle Quesada was brought in, and she helped to propel CRD to an even higher level of excellence in their home construction and remodeling projects.  CRD offers a creative and collaborative approach to the home building process, and the results are extraordinary homes that give homeowners a great sense of pride in their home.

CRD have in-house designers and masterful carpenters who specialize in kitchen remodeling and bathroom renovations, in addition to whole home renovations and custom home additions.  CRD utilizes four steps for each design/build project.  The first step in the process is “Discover,” in which the clients learn more about the design and building process that CRD utilizes.  The second step is “Design,” where the client is presented with initial drawings and they will also receive a preliminary estimate for the project.  The third step is “Develop,” where the drawings, specifications and schedules are prepared and finalized.  The final step is “Deliver,” where lead carpenters manage and build your home project.
