CATHARINES, Ontario - June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Oxford Instruments recently added the mPulse™ hand-held analyzer to its product line further expanding the company’s portfolio of handheld analyzers for the metal recycling market.  Now available in Canada, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Products Limited is the exclusive distributor for the mPulse^TM.

mPulse™ utilizes a technology known as Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometry (LIBS) and is considered a non-destructive metals analysis technique.  mPulse™ combines an incredibly fast 1 second analysis speed together with ease of use and rugged reliability.

The world's fastest scrap metal analyzer has been designed to allow quick, simple and reliable identification of scrap or recycled metal and determine its value, minimizing your time and maximizing profits.

The mPulse™ handheld analyzer can be used to test large or small samples including turnings and granules.  The laser scans the surface of the sample and will bounce repeatedly across tiny samples to optimize the analysis.  Samples can be held where convenient because the laser is microscopic, non-penetrating and cannot be felt.  mPulse™ is a surface analyzer so test pieces should be clean but no specific sample preparation is normally needed. Anodized surfaces will usually be penetrated by the laser.
