Robinson is supporting Landfill Operations and Construction of Solar Power Fields by providing land surveying services and utilizing aerial mapping technologies

June 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Robinson has been supporting several projects related to landfill operations and construction of solar power fields.  Our director of land surveying, Phil McEntee, P.L.S. has extensive expertise in these types of projects.

Phil was the project manager for the team tasked with providing professional land surveying services for the former Encap Project.  This project called for the capping and closure of six separate municipal landfills.   He was also involved with the Towpath Landfill, a previously closed landfill with a cap that was experiencing failure.  The project was environmentally sensitive as the site was adjacent to both the Raritan River and the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park Trail.

Some of our past and current landfill and solar power field projects are:

 ACUA Landfill

ROBINSON was contracted to obtain new black & white aerial mapping photography, perform aero triangulation and compile 50-scale topographic mapping with one-foot contours for approximately 225 acres of the Atlantic City Utility Authority (ACUA) Landfill.

Parklands Landfill

ROBINSON is currently providing
professional survey services for the proposed 10.135 MW Solar project at the Parklands Landfill.
Services include pre-construction
verification of existing site obstructions and construction layout services.

Kinsley Landfill

ROBINSON is also proving services that include verification of existing condition grades and construction layout for the proposed 11.1 MW Solar project at the Kinsley Landfill.

Gloucester Landfill

ROBINSON is annually contracted to obtain new black & white aerial mapping photography, perform aero triangulation and compile 100-scale topographic mapping with two-foot contours for approximately 210 acres of the Gloucester Landfill.

 Encap Project

ROBINSON was contracted to obtain new color aerial mapping photography, perform aero triangulation and compile 30-scale topographic mapping with one-foot contours for approximately 2.5 sq. miles of the Hackensack Meadowlands in Bergen County, NJ.   This landfill area was designated to be at capacity and suitable for capping and redevelopment.

 Pennsauken Landfill

ROBINSON is annually contracted to obtain new black & white aerial mapping photography, perform aero triangulation and compile 100-scale topographic mapping with two-foot contours for approximately 150 acres of the Pennsauken Landfill.
