RALEIGH, N.C. - June 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC – May 18, 2014 — Akili Software, Inc.,  announced today it has completed the acquisition of the EDI Smart Reader™ platform from Home Care Software Solutions, Inc. The EDI Smart Reader becomes the first product in the Akili Software portfolio of web and mobile apps and supports Akili Software’s vision of delivering smarter web and mobile applications for health care, private duty, and volunteer caregivers.

The EDI Smart Reader platform allows users to instantly convert Medicare/Medicaid 5010 response files including WellCare® file formats.  Users can then identify claim errors, make needed corrections, and resubmit their claims using their PM software.  With little to no change in workflow, users work smarter and shorten their revenue cycle while newly added print and export features allows them to analyze denial trends.

“Originally created as a tool for Medicare-certified home health and hospice agencies, users of the EDI Smart Reader run the spectrum from medical labs, to ophthalmologists, to mental health facilities,” says Michelle Harper, CEO of Akili Software, Inc.  She adds that, “The acquisition will bring approximately 25 customers to Akili Software and we feel confident we can achieve our goal of having 100 users per state within the first 18 months.”  Converted and launched as a web-based application, the EDI Smart Reader is offered as a monthly subscription of $29/user after a 7-day trial.

Founded in 2014, Akili Software, Inc. is a technology startup founded by two women entrepreneurs passionate about creating web and mobile applications caregivers LOVE to use.  Akili Software is proudly based out of the HQ Raleigh startup community in Raleigh, NC.
