Dextra Group and Philips aligned in cutting-edge product development

Leading technology giants Philips have filed the third largest amount of patent applications in Europe, it has emerged.

GILLINGHAM, U.K. - June 5, 2014 - PRLog -- World renowned for their cutting-edge technology, it has been revealed by the European Patent Office that the company filed a staggering 1,839 patent applications in 2013 alone.

Philips have been reported to have made more applications than any other lighting organisation in 2013.

It has also been disclosed that more than 30 per cent of Philips’ applications were lighting-related. These figures demonstrate a significant increase of 59 per cent when compared to 2012.

These figures emphasise Philips’ continual, close association with technological advancement, innovation and ambition.

Dextra Group plc. have developed a close relationship with Philips, aligning themselves with them to forge support regarding a range of LED based components and products.

October 2013 marked a landmark achievement, with Dextra Group plc. combining with Philips to sign a joint licensing agreement.

The signed licensing agreement gave Dextra Group plc. access to Philips’ patents under the LED-based luminaires and retrofit bulbs licensing program.

Last year’s joint agreement highlighted the close relationship forged between Dextra Group plc. and Philips.

“My company has forged a close relationship with Philips and their support over a wide range of LED based products and components,” said Rupert Martin, Dextra Group plc, Chairman.

“Leveraging the two gives Dextra the maximum benefit under this agreement. It further endorses our policy of assembling and producing our full product range in the UK using only European based component supplies,” he added.
