If Desktop Website developers and designers were Generals of an Army? Mobile Responsive Websites would be the last line of defence!

June 9, 2014 - PRLog -- When faced with impending defeat, Generals will place what they call the, “Last Line of Defence” between themselves and the enemy, a last final effort of using what little soldiers they have left to prolong what is certain defeat. If Desktop Website developers and designers were Generals of an Army? Mobile Responsive Websites would be the last line of defence!

Yep like the Telco’s sucking the last breathe out of Copper Wire with DSL, the Desktop gurus will tell us we need to keep looking after the 26inch screen first and the 5 inch screen is catered for with a responsive option. We the consumers must shout for joy as we pinch and zoom, scroll and scroll rather than just hit a button and get the information we need.

The Generals will tell you there is no need for “Two” websites as you will have to update both separately, well this is an area I totally agree with them.

There is no need for both, just have a holding page on the web for desktop site seeing and then have a dedicated Mobile site that you do all the updates on for real business.

OMG I can feel the Howitzers pointing my way, the little red laser dots on my forehead the scream of, “Incoming” from all my Mobile Site Builders for uttering such threatening words to the Desktop Gods.

Ok enough of the fun and frivolity let’s get done to the nitty gritty of it all, do I really dislike Responsive websites that much? Well to be honest I think it’s a case of something is better than nothing!

If you have 75%++ of your customers looking for you on the Cell phone you might as well make sure they can at least read what your offering, sort of like eating McDonalds sure it may not be totally good for you but at least it fills a hole!

But pinching and scrolling, playing hide and seek for information even though it’s been, “Shrunk” to size can only work for a little while, sooner than later you have to move from the sandbox to a real playground and get yourself a real dedicated Mobile site.

No more “Wikipedia” amounts of Information for users to scroll through, just sexy grand entrance’s with Buttons that show you what you want and provide a click of a button access or instructions on how to get there.

So maybe it’s time for the website builders of the world to raise the white flag, surrender peacefully and learn the new Art Of War, if that’s the case they can go to our Mobile Website and instantly have access to all that’s sexy and Mobile.

Enjoy the day and remember no Second Chance on a First Impression, Get Mobile
