FRANKLINVILLE, N.C. - June 11, 2014 - PRLog -- It is very often you send something via a courier and you are anxious about the protection of your parcel. Obviously, you need to make sure that your parcel has enough safety to arrive the destination securely since there are many things can happen in the transit. Kimpak cellulose wadding can provide the best solution of your safe packaging. So, you need to be aware of the level of packing when you are sending a parcel in long distance.

First of all, you need to wrap each item individually. This takes a little longer but offers a better protection because there is no movement of contents. You must place all items within an inner box and then wrap them by bubble wrap. Your content should be placed in a rigid cardboard box and closed to prevent opening during transit. Moreover, you need to ensure more protection for the fragile items on their journey through Kimpak cellulose wadding. One more important thing, you have to prevent the movement of contents during transit and ensure that multiple items in your parcel do not touch each other.

The outer packaging needs to be strong enough since it will provide the main protection for the parcels. You can use a corrugated fiberboard box with a good quality outer wrapping. You can also use wooden crate, metal case, or plastic case as your outer packaging. The thickness and size of the outer box depend on the size and weight of an item and it is thicker for large sized items. One thing to remember is not to use sub-standard and damaged cartons as they can create problems.

Internal packaging is probably the most important feature as it prevents any damage from vibrations, shock, and pressure during transportation. The external packaging seems to be worthless without proper internal packaging. The materials which you may use for internal packaging are bubble wrap, foam sheeting, molded and shaped foam and more. Bubble wrap can provide a cushion to protect against shock and foam sheeting is ideal for lightweight items. You can also use cardboard as support structures and polystyrene chips for eliminating the movement of the packaged items. It is strongly suggested not to use paper, polythene bags, or wood shavings as your internal packaging materials.

Sealing is an important thing for your content and you need to seal the open edge of the parcel well. You can use 48mm or 50mm plastic or reinforced carton tape or Kimpak cellulose wadding to seal both the top and the bottom of your package. If the parcel is large or heavy, you can use multiple layers of tape. Don’t use ordinary household adhesive since they are not strong enough and your package will not properly protected. One more thing, you can’t use sting or strapping around your parcel as it can damage your content.

For long distance parcel, it will probably be moved by air. Since there are high probabilities of bumping and collision with other parcel, be aware of your packaging and give a special attention to breakable goods by using Kimpak cellulose wadding.
