June 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Downingtown, Penn.—The Chrysler Group recently calculated and announced the fuel savings and reduction of emissions that can be credited to TorqueFlight eight-speed transmissions in Chrysler Group vehicles, and the results were impressive!

According to the Chrysler Group, vehicles that are equipped with TorqueFlight eight-speed automatic transmissions save drivers more than 700 million gallons of fuel compared to models with five-speed or six-speed automatic transmissions over their lifetimes.

Additionally, Chrysler Group reported that CO2 emissions were reduced by more than six million metric tonnes thanks to these eight-speed transmissions.

“This is precisely the kind of impact we targeted with the TorqueFlite program,” says Jeffrey Lux, Vice President and Head of Transmission Powertrain. “And we fully expect this momentum to continue as we expand availability.”
