Smartsports becomes the Worlds No1 online seller of compression baselayers

BRISBANE, Australia - June 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Smartsports commercial manager Flo Hutter said “It goes to show there is a clear trend that Australian shoppers are becoming more savy and shopping online for better deals”.  Australia is still playing catch-up to the more developed markets of USA, UK and Europe with a little over 6% of all retail purchases made online, behind the USA at 13% and the UK 12% respectively. Australian customers continue to find their way to sites such as Amazon and Ebay with these two giants accounting for over 50% of all online retail purchases.

And this month was not a one-off. The team at Smartsports has been working towards becoming the leading Australian retailer on Ebay Australia of compression baslayers with a wide range of offerings around the $20-$30AUD price point.  “Customers are seemingly happier to choose compression baselayers that do the same job as the bigger brands but at about half the price” said Flo. “We are doing our best to help Aussies who want excellent quality sportswear but without the price tag of Under-Armour, Skins or Nike”.

Smartsports has signed a new deal to become the global distribution partner of Athlete-Sportswear.

The award-winning sportswear brand will launch officially in Australia in August 2014. However Smartsports has managed to secure a shipment of the best selling lines on Pre-order in time for Winter in Australia.
