Follow on Google News | Mary Cole, L.Ac. Joins Many RiversMany Rivers Community Acupuncture welcomes acupuncturist Mary Cole to the clinic in August 2014
Mary Cole is a Connecticut native with extensive community acupuncture experience. She has worked for the past 4 ½ years at Manchester Acupuncture Studio in Manchester and Nashua, NH, which is among the busiest acupuncture clinics in the country. She is excited to be returning to Connecticut to be closer to her family. Mary graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Biology, and received her Masters of Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, MA. After graduation, she started a private practice in acupuncture, but quickly realized that the private practice model didn’t suit her. “It was frustrating to treat people once or twice and have them not be able to come back because they couldn't afford it,” said Mary. “I also understood the irony of offering people a therapy that I myself or most of my family wouldn't have been able to afford. Luckily I was able to start working at a community acupuncture clinic.” Mary enjoys being able to provide affordable and effective acupuncture to people from all walks of life. “What I love most about community acupuncture is that it makes acupuncture accessible to a lot of people. We work to create an environment where folks feel comfortable coming to see us, because our only job is to help them get through whatever is going on. I think it is a really special thing to share in the lives of so many people whether it be for a few weeks or a few years,” she said. Many Rivers’ founder, Carrie Sawtell, L.Ac., is proud to have Mary join the team. “Mary and I knew each other through our work with POCA, the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture,” Mary is a Licensed Acupuncturist and is board-certified in Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Herbology) by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Mary will be seeing patients on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. Many Rivers is located at 44 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor, CT. Appointments are available on a sliding scale of $15 - $35 per treatment, plus a one-time $10 fee for new patients.
