IEX Celebrating 6th Anniversary

DELHI, India - June 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), India’s premier power exchange, has launched Mobile App on the occasion of its 6^th Anniversary Day celebrations. The App, now available for Android device, grants easy access to real-time price and volume information in the Day-Ahead Power Market besides providing information on REC Market as well as latest notifications and circulars from IEX, thereby  strengthening its connect and engagement with the stakeholders, both existing as well as potential. IEX also plans to launch the App for Apple and Blackberry devices within the next few days.

In addition, IEX is also delighted to unveil its comprehensive study in collaboration with Mercados Energy Market India, a reputed primary research organization. Titled ‘Indian Power Market: Journey so far and way forward”. The Report discusses evolution of exchange-based power markets, their contribution in shaping the Indian power sector, and their potential in a supply-starved economy such as ours. The study discusses the impact of power exchanges – with volumes rising almost 14-folds since inception, translating to a share of 3% in terms of total electricity generated and also advocates the need of prudent reforms such as ancillary services market, capacity market and financial transmission rights. The IEX Mobile App (IEX App) offers extensive information on Day-Ahead Market (DAM) in Power- bid details, market clearing price and market clearing volume; area price and volume; REC markets, circulars, landed cost calculator for open access users etc. The users must download the App either by accessing the IEX website (www.iexindia.com) or from their phone respective App Stores. After the APP is downloaded, the user registration information is captured, and subsequently a communication (email and /or sms) is sent to him/her with an activation link/code. The access to the Application is provided only after user activates the access. This registration and activation is a one-time activity per device.
