247 Home Rescue calls for government to prioritise domestic energy efficiency

ACCRINGTON, U.K. - July 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Domestic energy efficiency should be a national infrastructure priority, a leading boiler cover provider has said.

247 Home Rescue, which is based in Clayton-le-Moors, Lancashire, is calling on the government to commit to ensuring that the UK's 26 million homes meet acceptable sustainability standards so that nobody has to experience fuel poverty any longer.

The countries homes are among the coldest and draughtiest in Europe, and energy prices are on a continual upwards trajectory, so 247 Home Rescue states that comprehensive work to combat these issues must begin immediately as a matter of urgency.

"Domestic energy efficiency should be a national infrastructure priority, and should receive a level of government support similar to that offered to the transportation and energy generation sectors.

"Investing in energy efficiency won't simply help people lower their fuel bills, but could also give the struggling economy a much-needed boost. It would create thousands of employment opportunities, provide people with additional disposable income, and strengthen the security of our gas and electricity supplies.

"Climate change becomes a more pressing issue every second; by prioritising energy efficiency, the government could cut the UK's carbon footprint by a huge chunk with relatively little effort, helping Brits to fulfil their duties towards the next generations."
