By: MT Productions As a co-founding member of Collective Soul, member of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, the platinum rocker played lead guitar on some of the biggest songs of his era. The group’s hook-laden guitar anthems and powerfully melodic songs led them to seven No. 1 radio hits (‘Shine’, ‘The World I Know’, ‘December’ The sudden success experienced by Collective Soul was one of the 1990s big music stories. Their 1994 debut album, Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid, with the help of its lead single, ‘Shine,’ propelled the band to international stardom, multi-platinum status and pioneers of the alternative rock genre. Made In Atlanta, Childress’ first studio release since 2010, features an intimate and mellower side of the virtuoso rarely seen by his fans. “This six-song EP is a tribute to my hometown and state, which has produced some of the greatest musicians and artists of all time,” Childress said. “It’s also a reflection of the different genres of music you will hear when you come to Atlanta – one big stew that reflects a wide variety of tastes, which are all delectable.” Made In Atlanta finds Childress in a contemplative and reflective mood but also includes a dose of signature and searing guitar sounds. “It’s definitely the most personal work I’ve done to date,” Childress says. “But even more important, there’s a real pride that this was Made in Atlanta.” End
