Dorset for four

Dairyman’s Cottage is set within 100 acres of pasture and woodland on a farm on the Dorset-Wilshire border, and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A refurbished former farm building, the property retains a rustic feel and has a stunning open-plan design downstairs. Being close to the market town of Shaftesbury, the beautiful city of Bath, and Longleat Safari Park, you’ll not be stuck for choice for days out. Helford House, a stand-alone property perched on the banks of the peaceful Helford River near Falmouth, is approached via a steep, zigzag pathway through trees. There’s a large wooden deck and a patio garden, both overlooking Port Navas on the opposite side. The spacious sitting room has solid wood floors and an open fire for cooler evenings. Guests staying in the master bedroom wake up to waterside views, and there’s a bunk room for children.

Cockmill Barn (sleeps six) is seriously appealing; whilst converted with its original character in mind, equally it’s a contemporary dream with an amazing high beamed ceiling.
