Shanghai Travelers' Club magazine Luxury Travel Awards 2014

NEW YORK - July 29, 2014 - PRLog -- For the second year, 12,364 High Net Worth Chinese readers of the prestigious "Shanghai Travelers' Club magazine", a luxury travel publication in Chinese Mandarin language, have been asked to vote for their favorite travel destinations. They had no list of pre-selected names and a total freedom to vote."When we saw the results, we have been at the same time very surprised and very pleased" said Pierre Gervois, President of the Shanghai Travelers' Club. "We discovered that our readers were extremely sophisticated and discerning in their votes. They have a perfect understanding of what genuine luxury is, far from show off and over advertised brands".

In 2014, new categories have been added: "Best Eco Resort", "Best Private Island", and "Best Space Travel Company", showing a growing interest for authentic travel experiences.

"2014 is a critical year for travel and tourism businesses. Hospitality industry must understand now that the new generation of Chinese independent tourists don't want just Chinese tea in their rooms - but a high quality, genuine travel experience, far from the disrespectful clichés about Chinese tourists" Mr Gervois added.
