The Cupboard Inc. to perform Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple in Muncie

Aug. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Cast members from The Cupboard Inc. Presents: Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple have officially ended their run in Indianapolis and is now preparing to open in Muncie on August 16 at Cornerstone Center For The Arts, 520 E. Main Street with two shows—3 and 7 p.m.

The production is embarking on a ten-city tour after choosing to have Indianapolis as the opening city for the tour. In conjunction with the REACH Center, Muncie will be the next city the touring production plans to embark in as they continue to spread their message of launching a mobile food pantry this fall.

“Our organization uses the arts as a way to push our message through.” said Joyce Licorish, president of The Cupboard Inc. and also stars in the show as Sophia.

The Cupboard Inc. have been busy all summer performing fundraiser shows that were performed cabaret style to help support the touring efforts of the production. The organization is also excited to announce that proceeds from the show will also go towards supporting the youth in Muncie.
