Follow on Google News | The Finger Lakes Mud Run at Everest Park Unveils Several New Obstacles! There's nearly 30 extreme obstacles await this year's mud runners
By: Finger Lakes Mud Run One course is a 5K short course designed for those who're looking for a fun challenge, but aren't quite ready for the big time. The second course explores more than 750 acres of dense forest, sun-baked fields, and terrain that even scares the wildlife—all along a 14K course. The third course is a Mini Muddy that lets kids ages 6-12 get completely covered in mud, just like the rest of the family. This year's new obstacles, however, will push participants to their limits and add to the fun and excitement of this military-style trail run. Volunteers have gone all out this year to conceptualize and design obstacles that enhance the spirit of the competition and, of course, involve a lot of mud. Cocoa Fondue will force participants to make it across deep pits of water and mud. Crown Jewels will require participants to make it from one end of a moat to the other without falling in. Finally, Butter Camel is even better than it sounds: participants must make it over a series of humps and bumps before swinging across a moat to safety. Other new obstacles will be announced in the coming weeks, including brand new challenges for the Mini Muddy race, as well. The race layout is also changing, with the order of popular obstacles such as Hardwood's Revenge, Chow Chow's Tongue, and the Everest Mud Pit being switched up to keep mud runners on their toes. This year's event promises to be even bigger and better than last year. More than 2,000 participants are expected to compete, and a variety of new sponsors are being added. Some, such as Ivoclar Vivadent, are international, multi-million dollar companies excited about connecting with the Finger Lakes Mud Run for the first time. Registration remains open, and participants can take advantage of a lower registration fee ($75 for individual participants; End
