Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation Reveals Return of ‘Before You Graduate’ Scholarship

DAVIE, Fla. - Aug. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The unique scholarship that doesn’t require any prerequisites, the Before You Graduate (BYG) Scholarship will be brought back for the 2014-2015 school year due to its previous outstanding success. Created by the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF), over 4,000 students have participated in the past year.

The online quiz competition will be in effect during the fall and winter terms, with new quizzes coming out the first week of each month during activity. The quizzes will test students’ “common knowledge”, including topic areas such as geography, political science, financial literacy, and college facts. All of this information, as well as cheat sheets to study for the quizzes, are located on CKSF’s website, www.cksf.org.

CKSF is a non-profit organization, located at Nova Southeastern University, which focuses on creating equal educational and financial opportunities to participants of all levels. All of the scholarships are internet-based quiz competitions in which the highest scoring participant wins. For all CKSF scholarship quizzes, 500 points are awarded for each correct answer and one point is deducted for each second taken to complete a question. Participants aren’t expected to know all the answers; its okay to Google questions if you don’t know the answers, but time is ticking! Results are available immediately after each quiz and the overall ranking is available within three hours.

The BYG Scholarship is a bit different from others by CKSF. This scholarship not only awards a $250 scholarship to the highest scoring individual at the end of each Challenge Round, but the top 20 scorers of a school are combined to create the team score, and the school with the highest score in each state advances their top five (5) students to the Championship Round. At the end of the competition, the highest scoring school earns the CKSF Nation Championship Trophy.

Other scholarships can sometimes take up a lot of your time, but CKSF’s scholarships don’t require any essays, application, or GPA requirement. All you have to do is sign up, answer some questions, and you’re on your way!
