VOYCE Awarded Grant from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing St. Louis

ST. LOUIS - Aug. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- VOYCE was chosen to receive a grant for the Efficiency Redesign and Space Reallocation Project from the Employees Community Fund of Boeing St. Louis. This grant will benefit the volunteer ombudsmen who advocate on behalf of residents in long-term care communities through the creation of collaborative work space that facilitates volunteer and student engagement. The grant will also underwrite the cost of transitioning to a high-efficiency filing system for safe, secure case management. We are grateful to the employees of Boeing for enhancing the VOYCE office infrastructure to enable volunteer engagement and efficient file management of cases.

The Employees Community Fund of The Boeing Company (known as ECF or the Fund) is a unique employee-owned and directed giving program that allows employees to support the needs of their local communities via tax-deductible recurring payroll deductions or one-time gifts.

A United Way agency, VOYCE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free assistance to families and individuals seeking long-term care for loved ones, as well as advocacy for those currently living in long-term care settings.  VOYCE offers advocacy services to the 28,000 individuals who reside in more than 300 skilled nursing, assisted living and residential care communities in Greater St. Louis and northeast Missouri.  More than 50% of these individuals have no one to advocate on their behalf. Last year, VOYCE helped over 600 individuals find long-term care and resolved over 3,500 complaints in long-term care settings.

In addition to grants from the Area Agencies on Aging, VOYCE relies on the community for much of its funding, including individual gifts, foundation grants and corporate contributions. VOYCE would not be able to provide its services free of charge to families and individuals if it were not for the continuous generosity of the St. Louis community, year after year.
