For bull riding fans it won’t get any better than the CBR’s annual trip to Dickinson and this year organizers of the Dielco Crane Double Down are stepping things up a notch. Fans will have the opportunity to see the riders compete as each man will ride one bull and the top scoring ride will have the opportunity to attempt to make the 8 second whistle on Continental Rock, the $5,000 bounty bull presented by Continental Resources and Rockpile Energy. Sage Kimzey rode the locally owned bucking bull, Ragin JT, to win $107,000 on July 22 in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the CBR World Finals. The August 23rd Dickinson event will be the kickoff of new CBR season and will bring two hours of heart stopping bull riding action from some of the nation’s top cowboys as they take on the 2,000 pound foes, each hoping to win his share of the $10,000 total purse and add to their valuable points toward qualification for the national televised “Road to Cheyenne” tour. Fans will get a rare opportunity to see locally owned “JT” up close. This big hearted red bull has made a lot of cowboys a lot of money. The Bucking Bull of the Year finalist will be featured at the bull riding, but in a rare appearance outside the competitive arena, “JT” will also be available to sign autographs take pictures with fans on Friday, August 22nd at 3 pm at Runnings Farm and Fleet in Dickinson.
