A Fun Filled Independence Day Event at Usha Woods made Children Happy

NAVI MUMBAI, India - Aug. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- The Independence Day celebrations at “Usha Woods” Karjat, Mumbai was an eventful day, the participation of dignitaries and many other notable personas graced this occasion. We thank all of you for your encouragement and support said Mr. Pratik Patil, the Director of UIDC and Usha Infratech Pvt Ltd, who owns the project “USHA WOODS” & “WOOD SPEAKS”, indeed the event was a grand Independence Day Celebration, with dignitaries Mr. Subhash Patil, Karjat gracing the occasion and hoisting the flag, followed by national anthem by the children from Umang foundation. Umang Foundation supported us wholeheartedly with their group of children who were full of enthusiasm in planting more than 500 saplings off the highway to Bhimashankar hills, Karjat. The children heard with keen ears on each and every word Mr. Subhash Patil has to speak about the great deed they have done by planting saplings, the children were very inquisitive and Mr. Subhash Patil was glad addressing them.

Founder of Gramin Lok Seva Mandal (regtd 1985), inspired by the work and thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi and Vinoba Bhave Mr. Subhash Patil had been living in the Pavnar Ashram founded by Vinoba Bhave since 1978. After Vinoba Bhave passed away in 1983, Mr. Patil decided to move to Karjat where Vinobaji was born, and undertake the work of setting up a school for physically disabled children.

Umang Foundation focuses on the upliftment of society in every possible way; it has a strong focus on providing education material to underprivileged children. Apart from education, a complete creative growth is facilitated by the foundation through clay modeling workshops, Warli painting, paper collage and paper-bag making workshops for orphans, magic shows and dance competitions.

After lunch the children from UMANG Foundation enjoyed playing in the open spaces, gardens and the waterfalls, few also took a walk to the entire project and finally towards the meditation centre. Mr. Pratik Patil praised the honoured guest Mr. Subhash Patil and other dignitaries who graced this occasion and also thanked NGO Umang for their heart full support.
