The Color Purple ends Indiana run and preps for Atlanta opening

ATLANTA - Aug. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- The Cupboard Inc. ended its Indiana run over the weekend for their touring production of Oprah Winfrey’s The Color Purple. The organization is now preparing to take their show on the road outside of Indiana by opening in the Atlanta area on August 30^th at the Earl Smith Strand Theater for two shows—3 and 7 pm.

“We are looking forward to taking our show on the road outside of Indiana. The cast has too much talent not to be shown.” said Joyce Licorish, the organization’s president and also stars in the show as Sophia.

The Cupboard Inc. is embarking on a ten city tour for The Color Purple in which the organization is also using to promote the fall launch of their mobile food pantry.

“We use performing arts to get our message across.” said Samantha Pounds, the organizations spokesperson who also said, “we are launching a mobile food pantry and we are looking to give back in each city that we tour in.”

Once the tour wraps, the organization will then make a cross journey across the United States back into their touring cities to distribute food to families and community centers in need.

“It’s all about giving back. We are very excited to take our mission outside of Indiana. We have a great show that we are touring and proceeds will go towards a great cause.” said Pounds.
