Ebara Live with Dassault Systèmes Smart Pull Manufacturing

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Aug. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Ebara Corporation, a leading Japanese manufacturer of pumps and other fluid machinery, is implementing a Dassault Systèmes manufacturing solution to help improve inventory accuracy and visibility. Ebara’s operations improvement plan is to use this solution to employ Pull production processes to reduce lead times and inventory while improving efficiency.

Starting at the company’s Fujisawa plant in Japan, the goal was to unify a sequence of disparate inventory, production and delivery processes to improve visibility and control of their production processes. This led to a decision to introduce a Manufacturing Execution System (http://www.apriso.com/solutions/manufacturing_execution_system.php) (MES) to better manage operations, reduce lead times and inventory, and improve efficiency.

Some of the benefits that have been achieved:

Support for a wide range of Pull type production processes from production, supplier, inbound order, inventory and outbound
Real-time visibility to inventory management, with links to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Added mobility access and visibility to production sites using handheld devices
