Russian Railways Logistics develops cooperation with Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant

CHELYABINSK, Russian Federation - Aug. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Russian Railways Logistics, subsidiary of RZD Holding, develops cooperation with Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant.  Jointly with TransContainer, another subsidiary of the holding, company organized regular complex service on delivery of imported polyethylene from the ports of Northwest Russia and the Russian Far East. Polyethylene is used by the plant for finished goods packaging.

The service was ordered by Woojin Global Logistics, which has one of the most extensive network in all industrial centers and regions of China and South Korea.

In the framework of this project RZDL prioritized timely delivery of goods with high-level security. The company managed to provide uninterrupted cargo delivery from the port of St. Petersburg to Chelyabinsk by coinciding layovers to change locomotives and locomotive crews, wagon inspection stations and by increasing the transit speed of container trains. To speed up the customs clearance of goods from Nakhodka RZDL arranged customs control and temporary storage areas at Chelyabinsk-gruzovoy station terminal.

In order to minimize door-to-door delivery time from the consignor in South Korea to the final consignee in Chelyabinsk, containers arrived at the station in Chelyabinsk were dispatched to the final destination in accordance with the agreed schedule.

Freight delivery within a specific schedule allows to improve service efficiency and to reduce delivery costs in order to attract additional traffic volume to railway and improve service quality.

Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) engages in the production and distribution of pipes and pipe products for the oil and gas industry, housing and utilities infrastructure, and industrial applications primarily in Russia. Total market share of the company is about 20%.
