IVR Clinical Concepts Inc. Receives U.S.-EU and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework Certification

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Aug. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Saratoga Springs, New York, August 2014 – IVR Clinical Concepts Inc., a global provider of IVRS and IWRS solutions and services for clinical applications, received Safe Harbor Certification effective immediately. IVRCC has notified the Department of Commerce of their adherence to the U.S.-EU and the U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework developed by the Department of Commerce in coordination with the European Commission. The U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework provides guidance for U.S. organizations on how to provide adequate protection for personal data from the European Union, as required by the EU Directive on Data Protection.

The European Directive on Data Protection requires that transfers of personal data take place only to non-EU countries that provide an "adequate" level of privacy protection. The United States takes a different approach to data privacy than taken by the European Union. To diminish uncertainties and provide a more predictable framework for personal data transfers from the EU to the U.S., the U.S. Department of Commerce in consultation with the European Commission issued the Safe Harbor Framework in 2000. Certified Organizations must comply with the seven Safe Harbor Principles about Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Access, Security, Data Integrity and Enforcement.
