Launch of a book on Mathematics for engineering students at GNIOT

GREATER NOIDA, India - Aug. 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Greater Noida Group of Institutions saw a flurry of activities centred on the world of numbers. The occasion was the launch of a book on Mathematics for engineering students. Engineering Mathematics-1 is written by Dr Ravish Singh and Mukul Bhatt and is based on the UPTU (Uttar Pradesh technical University) syllabus. The book was launched by GNIOT’s Director, Joy Banerjee.  Also present on the occasion was Tina Jajoria-Product Manager-(Science, Engineering and Mathematics) from Tata-Mc Graw Hill, the publisher of the book. 20 institutions from the NCR area were a part of the event.

Author Ravish Singh, who is also the Vice-Principal at LR Tiwari College of Engineering, Mumbai said, “This book will prove very helpful to the first semester students. Maths is the foundation of engineering, and this book is definitely going to make the subject easier for the students. A student who is good at maths also finds it easier to grasp concepts of logical reasoning and analysis.The book is based on the most recent syllabus.

Answering the queries from teachers Dr Ravish said, “An engineering course is quite different from what is taught at the 10+2 level. Many students find the transition very difficult and confusing, especially math. This book tries to explain every concept in detail, with step by step analysis.”

Dr Banerjee said while concluding the event, “I hope the students find this book very helpful in making their studies easy, and in helping them carve a great career.

Others present during the book launch were representatives from Accurate Institute, BBDIT Ghaziabad, Galgotia University, Skyline, GL Bajaj and other institutes. GNIOT’s Chairman-KL Gupta and Deputy Chairman BL Gupta were also present on the occasion.
