Father Adolfo Pereira Zon was born in Orense, Spain, on 23 January 1953. He is a religious of the Society of St. Francis Xavier for Foreign Missions. He was ordained on June 21, 1986. He holds a Master's Degree in Theology from the University of Comillas in Madrid (Spain) and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Pastoral Theology at the University of Salamanca. At the beginning of his priestly career, Father Adolfo was active in Youth Ministry of the Archdiocese of Pamplona in Spain and was also co-pastor in the parish of St. Francis Xavier (1988-1992) and treasurer of the Xaverian community in the same country. In 1993, he moved to Brazil, where he began pastoral internship at the parish of Our Lady Queen of Peace, in the diocese of Abaetetuba. He became involved with many pastoral activities, among them: as an aide in the formation of the laity in the School of Faith and Politics in the Regional Council Caritas North 2 CNBB, Brazil; Director of the Diocesan School of Evangelization; In the period from 2005 to 2006, he served as economic administrator of the Diocese of Abaetetuba, and as Professor of Social Doctrine of the Church at the Regional Institute of Priestly Formation in the North 2 CNBB region of Brazil. He had been the coordinator of the Social Pastoral Council of the Diocese of Abaetetuba since 1998 when activity ceased in February this year. Currently he serves as the regional treasurer of the Xaverian Missionaries and as a parish priest at St. Francis Xavier parish of the Archdiocese of Belém, Brazil. End
