It is a unique, never before seen gesture-driven lockscreen application for Android that enables users to define their own gesture commands and launch any application without the need to unlock their phones first. The idea behind the app is that “Life is too short to unlock then launch.”

According to RoamTouch, RKT Launcher is a clear and powerful demonstration of the potential of the company’s main product, gestureKit, a simple and sophisticated Software Development Kit (SDK) that creates gesture-driven applications across all platforms. One of the biggest challenges in the gesture industry today is the lack of cross-platform compatibility, and as a result, many are reluctant to adopt gesture control despite the powerful potential it yields. GestureKit was created with the vision to overcome this.

Based on an online editor and a plug-in distribution system, gestureKit enables application creators to easily add gesture recognition to applications simply by drawing and thus alleviating the pain of re-programming from scratch for Android, iOS and web. It works as a non-intrusive transparent overlay and does not interfere with the interactive elements native to an application. UX Gesture Consulting Services will provide per engagement 1-3 new gestures designed, usability tested, and launched on the app in an average of 8 weeks. Each engagement will also include a training component that includes the latest gesture best practices and methodologies for creating new gestures. In addition, for each project, the will provide all the technology needed and technical implementation framework for the application.
