CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Sept. 4, 2014 - PRLog -- Results naming the top baby food makers for 2014 have been announced from baby product review site, BabyGearLab.com.  The pediatrician-led team put eight of the most popular baby food makers on the market through a series of hands-on tests over a four month period to hone in on the top performers.  The machines were closely compared side-by-side and weighed against each other based on the following criteria: puree quality, ease of use, ease of cleaning, capacity, durability and portability.  View the full details at BabyGearLab.com.

Listed below are the 2014 award winners:

The Editors' Choice Award winner was the Sage Spoonfuls Immersion Blender with Food Processor Attachment.  “This machine blew the competitors out of the water when it came to versatility; an important factor to consider as baby’s nutritional needs change.  On top of that, this unit was also a stellar performer as far as ease of use and its ability to produce consistent results for us time and again,” said BabyGearLab founder, Dr. Juliet Spurrier.  “And we feel that with a list price of $40, this is a tool most families can afford to add to their baby-gear arsenal, making it a win-win-win.”

The Top Pick Award went to an all-in-one machine, the Baby Brezza.  “If you’re looking to make large batches of baby food to freeze and store for future use, we felt this is the best machine,” said Dr. Spurrier.  “This compact unit steams and purees with the push of a button, saving you both counter space and time, important factors for today’s busy family.”

The Kidalog Baby Food Mill Grinder took home the Best Value award in this category.  “The least expensive product we tested, this hand-crank machine was perfect for on-the-go, simple food production,” notes Dr. Spurrier.  “We could just grab it and go without any fuss or concern about space or finding a power source.”

BabyGearLab Editors are parents themselves who put the machines to use in real-life settings with a baby.  This included both at-home and travel situations, testing out a large variety of foods with different qualities and textures, and noting carefully the subtle differences in machines as they were graded side-by-side on performance.  This type of testing allows for careful consideration and presentation of key features that would be important for today’s modern family.

BabyGearLab has also released an article entitled “How to Choose the Best Baby Food Maker” to help guide parents in finding the perfect baby food making machine for their family. It includes a flow chart and important questions to consider before making a purchase.
