Announcing Art Opening: Sarinda Newell, Compound Eye Photography

OAKLAND, Calif. - Sept. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Come celebrate at Tech Liminal with an opening reception for Sarinda Newell’s beautiful photographs. On display will be selected photographs capturing geometry found in nature and architecture. Sarinda is showing some of her favorite pieces, from her profilic photography work.

"I’ve always loved detail and pattern – and there’s something about holding a camera in my hands that makes it easier to notice the delicious little corners of my garden, or pay more attention to the way that light collects in an ice cube. The beauty and the geometry surround us every moment of every day. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to catch a fragment of it. I’m a maker by nature, an engineer by training, and an artist by choice. Welcome to my little slice of the visual world," says Sarinda.

"My ready-to-hang photographs are mounted on plaques, and sealed with a tough, UV protective coating. They're amazingly low glare, super easy to clean, and nicely inexpensive. But best of all (in my opinion) is how they look on the wall. The artwork 'hugs' the wall and is somehow easier to see than if it's hiding behind glass in a frame. (Your eyeballs may vary.)"

Sarinda is an engineer, jeweler, and photographer. A celebrity in the chainmail jewelry world, she is known as Spider. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and currently lives in Alameda County.
