Follow on Google News | Studio RED Architects Readies Commencement of Phase I for New Unity Circle of Light Worship CampusUnity Circle of Light had specific design needs for their new worship campus that Project Lead Trung Doan and the Studio RED team have created a master plan that successfully meets those goals.
By: Studio RED Architects Four architecture firms were interviewed for the project to meet all of the churches needs and to create a "Circle of Light in The Woodlands," both figuratively and literally. Reverend Jerry Roberts and the church Building Advisory Team were immediately won over by the professionalism, preparation, and flexibility demonstrated by Project Lead Trung Doan and the Studio RED team. "Trung was a listener, very specific and paid close attention to our project and what makes our choice unique," said Rev. Roberts. Doan quickly got to work drafting a campus in the natural and non-institutional aesthetic desired. The church required a design that minimized disturbance of the surrounding environment and Doan innovated a unique vision: he divided the campus into five smaller buildings to create a more welcoming, less intimidating environment than the traditional church facility. The Studio RED master plan includes a main chapel, multi-purpose building, children's building, youth building, arts center and a graceful prayer garden. Phase I encompasses the multi-purpose building and will be completed later this year. Additional amenities and an expansion for parking for the facility will be created during the scheduled Phase II that is set to commence in 2015. About Studio RED Architects Trung H. Doan, AIA, founding partner of Studio RED Architects, brings over 20 years of design expertise in tandem with a distinguished academic background, including the award of a Fulbright Fellowship in 1999. Throughout his higher education and career, he has been consistently recognized for achievement in design and has developed a unique passion for designing complex projects, with a particular emphasis on assembly and entertainment facilities.
