West-MEC Northeast Campus Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

PHOENIX - Sept. 5, 2014 - PRLog -- Western Maricopa Education Center (West-MEC), in partnership with McCarthy Building Companies and DLR Group, is celebrating the opening of its Northeast Campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new $18M campus will accommodate approximately 700 students with programs providing technical skill training that meets industry standards, and career certifications. Currently, 156 high school students are enrolled in Northeast Campus programs.

Students and faculty join representatives from McCarthy Building Companies and DLR Group; West-MEC Governing Board Chairman Ray Malnar and Superintendent Greg Donovan; James Miller of John F. Long Properties, LLLP.

West-MEC Northeast Campus is located at 1617 W. Williams Dr. (19 Ave. & Deer Valley Rd.) in Phoenix, AZ 85027

The once-vacant warehouse, located next to the Deer Valley Airport, has been renovated into a fully equipped, interactive career and technical education campus.

Media are invited to observe and interview students and faculty working in state-of-the-art classrooms and technical labs. Campus training programs include automotive collision technology, climate control technician, medical assisting and veterinary sciences.
