Pacific Islands Society Seeks Volunteers in Communications, Marketing, Membership, and Development

The Pacific Islands Society (PacSoc) will be significantly expanding its operations over the next six months. The nonprofit is therefore enlarging its volunteer base to be able to take on additional responsibilities.
 
LONDON - Sept. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The Pacific Islands Society is looking for volunteers who share its vision of a world that respects, inspires, and empowers Pacific Islanders. The organization is seeking experienced volunteers in communications, marketing, and journalism to assist the Director of Communications and in membership and development to support the Director of Development.

Volunteers in the Communications Department will help manage the organization’s marketing and communications deliverables. Tasks include soliciting new content from third party experts, sub-editing and producing final content, and preparing press releases and other public relations materials. Volunteers may also be tasked with conducting subject area background research on specific topics of interest and helping to launch new policy publications.

Volunteers in the Development Department will help the organization grow its membership base and identify external funding from trusts, foundations, corporations, nonprofits, and individual donors. Primarily, the work will be limited to potential members and partners in Belgium, Fiji, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Singapore, Switzerland, Tonga, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Specific background in membership and/or development work in these countries is desired.

Volunteer applications will be accepted on a rolling basis from current members of the Pacific Islands Society. Prospective applicants should provide a cover letter as well as a C.V. and two professional references. All applications should be emailed to staff@pacificislandssociety.org.
