Join Us on Saturday, September 20 for the WOKC Run for the Children

ADDISON, Texas - Sept. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Join the fight against childhood cancer by running or walking in the 29^th annual Oktoberfest Run for the Children on Saturday, September 20.  This family-friendly event is presented by Tom Thumb and is part of Addison's annual Oktoberfest celebration.  All proceeds benefit Wipe Out Kids’ Cancer, a Dallas-based nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and funding for childhood cancer research and to providing hope and support to children with cancer.

Choose from a 1-mile Fun Run or a 5K course.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male/female overall & Masters’ division winners, and awards will be given in each age category.  Event perks include the Amica Finish Line Celebration with free food, German beer, awards and entertainment. September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Cancer is the number one cause of death by disease for American children, and more than 3,000 Dallas-area residents will join the fight against childhood cancer by participating in this event.   Each year many local schools, companies, families and organizations form teams to run or walk in honor or memory of a child with cancer and to raise money in support of the cause.
