ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Sept. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- The Eden Resort & Suites in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a 301-room hotel and conference center installed a 2G CENERGY^® on-site CHP module which provides the hotel with power for running the resort and the thermal energy / hot water used for pools and rooms. The cogeneration system also reduced the hotel's carbon footprint, enabling the owner to go ahead with future expansion plans without increasing carbon emissions.

The project, undertaken by SOPHANCE, an energy consulting and project development company, aims to reduce the hotel’s dependence on utility, and to save energy costs while cutting carbon emissions at the same time.

Energy expenses are the second largest cost center; personnel costs to be the largest, in the hotel & hospitality industry. Fortunately energy represents one of the cost elements that are controllable by applying energy efficient, cost saving, and environmental friendly CHP cogeneration systems, and simultaneously boosting a hotel’s image.

2G CENERGY^® received the order to manufacture and supply a CHP rated 400 ekW/h with a yearly capacity of 3,320 MWh electrical output along with 15,756 mmBTU of thermal energy generation. This fully-containerized, “All-in-One” and “Plug & Play” CHP Cogeneration system was supplied in “High-Line Configuration” for more pleasing optics and with reduced noise level of <50 dB(A) @ 30’, to assure a very quiet ambient around the hotel. The High-Line CHP Module was delivered in the hotel’s color and skillfully integrated into the existing resort infrastructure, considering hotel guest experience and limitations on space.

The installation was finalized in less than one week and now significantly reducing the hotel's energy bills, paying for itself in a very short time. This project demonstrates how easy it is for hotel owners to reduce their energy expenses.
