Oct. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Below I have listed out the foods and drinks you can use as an alternative to the high fat, high carb and high sugar foods we so often eat due to habits!  If you want to lose the belly fat to gain a six pack or a flat tummy, make these subtle yet powerful changes now.

1.       Morning and afternoon Coffees and ‘pick me ups’

Instead of opting for large lattes and flavoured coffees in the mornings and mid-afternoons, try green tea or peppermint tea.  These teas are particularly great at helping with bloating issues and also assist in the digestion of food, so perfect after lunch!

2.       Cold drinks

Reaching for the fridge for a cold can of beer or soda might seem like a good idea when you are hot and want to cool down, but instead make a jug of water, pop some ice cubes, fresh mint, and squeeze a healthy dose of lemon inside the jug. Not only will this quench your thirst and help you to cool down but the mint and lemon have wonderful cleansing and detoxifying properties.

3.       Eat the right Protein

Swap red meat for vegetable based protein a couple of times a week, not only does this have much less saturated fat, but it has the protein and fibre content that helps you to feel full.  Try tofu, soya, beans and legumes.

4.       Don’t completely cut out desserts!

Replace fatty and sugary cakes, tarts, chocolates, sweets and ice-cream with jelly, ice-pops made from your favourite sugar free soda, and an exotic fruit tray with passion fruit, mango, guava and pineapple.

5.       Use the right Oils

Replace your margarine, butter, olive oils with Coconut oil.  Not only is this a healthier fat to use when cooking but it contains a variety of other essential benefits such as Omega 3. Additionally because Coconut oil is a mid-chain triglyceride it does not get stored in the body as fat – it gets used up as energy very quickly by the body.  Use a small amount to replace the usual fat you may use when cooking.
